A Blueprint for Global Cervical Cancer Elimination

A single dose of the human papillomavirus vaccine confers protective immunity against infection on par with two doses, according to results from the NCI’s ESCUDDO trial, potentially making it easier to immunize individuals in low- and middle-income countries. One-dose vaccination could also make it easier for countries to reach targets set by the World Health Organization to reduce the incidence of cervical cancer.
