Directness of speech as an author's strategy

The article is devoted to the problems of successful communication and one of the strategies chosen by the speaker to achieve his communicative goal. The article examines the linguistic means of implementing the directness strategy of speech, which is considered to be characteristic of the speech behavior of Russian speakers. The purpose of this article is to analyze metalinguistic statements that reflect the speaker's linguistic reflection on the speech behavior of his/her own, addressee, or third person. The constructions are analyzed: pryamo skazhu , pryamo govoryu , pryamo skazhi/skazhite , pryamo govoryu/govorite and the verb of speech + s pryamotoi . It is proved that the use of these speech turns reflects the speaker's linguistic reflection on the choice of linguistic means, which is supported by the use of vocabulary that negatively evaluates speech, which is not characterized by directness. The collection of language material for analysis was carried out on the basis of the National Corpus of the Russian Language. Based on statistical data in the corpus, the author notes a tendency towards a decrease in the frequency of these markers and makes assumptions about the reasons for the change in the speech strategy of Russian speakers.
