INSECTIVE IMAGES IN B. POPLAVSKY’S CREATIVITY: HYMENOPTERA
Images of hymenoptera in the verses of Boris Poplavsky are discussed in the article. The symbolism of the bee has mainly an Apollonian origin, which is characteristic of both ancient culture and Russian poetry, especially the bucolic lyrics of classicism (G. R. Derzhavin, M. M. Kheraskov) and the Silver Age (Vyach. Ivanov, K. Balmont, O. Mandelstam). The bee is contrasted with the fly, symbolizing death, the Dionysian dark element of art. The wasp, which is sacralized, is a special image; the unusual image of the “blind wasp”, despite the closeness to the Mandelstam tradition (“Sisters of heaviness and tenderness...”), is related to the theme of the prophetic gift and the poet’s power to unite worlds in a single gaze. Keywords: B. Poplavsky.
