Hranice chotárov a polí ako nástroje a limity sociálnej disciplinizácie poddaných v Uhorsku na prelome 18. a 19. storočia

The turn of the 18th and 19th centuries is a period when rationality moves into various areas of social life. Undoubtedly, they include the sphere of land and property ownership, which was one of several arenas of conflicts between serfs and the nobility. The effort to confirm legality, as well as securing land and the values associated with it, was characterized by rational and institutional interventions on the part of the state and the nobility, but it could come into conflict with the specific, mental world of the serfs, who had their own, centuries-built ideas about the right to a certain property. A specific area of conflict between these two areas was also the communal borders of villages and the properties of serfs and nobility, from the border furrows between individual fields to the official borders of villages. The aim of the work is to approximate rational measures on the part of the state and the authorities, which should have led to greater protection, but also to a more precise demarcation and securing of communal and property boundaries. The subject of attention will also be the reaction of serfs, who often refuse to abandon their taken for-granted ideas and principles about claims to certain property or land, where the souls of the deceased continued to play an important role, as well as negative and positive forces, which in many cases represented a higher authority than the king or the local landowner. In the last part of the work, he approaches the possible solutions to the problems with the quality of the borders, as the authors of the time addressed it.
