Pharmacognostic, Pharmacological, and Formulation Perspectives of Curcuma aromatica

English, "Yu Jin" in Chinese, and "jangli haldi" in Hindi. It has several traditional uses in South-east Asian medicine, including coloring and flavoring foods and drinks. The purpose of this research is threefold: first, to understand the pharmacognostic features of C. aromatica rhizome through techniques like phytochemical screening and powder microscopy; second, to investigate the pharmacological activities of the hydroalcoholic extract of C. aromatica through studies of its antimicrobial effects in vitro; and third, to develop topical gel formulation containing C. aromatica and explore the antimicrobial activity of the products along with short-term accelerated stability study of the optimized formulation. The research shed light on the salient characteristics of C. aromatica, including its physicochemical and pharmacognostic properties. Several phytochemicals were identified via preliminary analysis. The presence of pharmacological activities, such as antibacterial and antifungal properties, was also uncovered in the investigation.
