European Regulations Concerning Discrimination inEmployment Relations
Discrimination in legal labor relations is based on the existence of a differential treatment of employers in legal labor relations, which implies the non-recognition of some protected legal criteria, in order to restrict or eliminate the use of employees' rights. The non-discrimination legislation derives from the transposition of relevant norms found at the international or European level, influencing the national regulatory manner of the member states. At the European level, the rules on non-discrimination can be found in Directives 2000/43/EC on racial equality and 2000/78/EC on equal treatment in employment. The article analyzes the ways of regulating non-discrimination measures in legal labor relations, with reference to the European normative framework, with the identification of normative similarities in the matter.
