The findings suggest that the Chinese version of the IRIC exhibits strong reliability and validity, rendering it an effective instrument for evaluating the level of empathy between pregnant women and their partners. The translated scale also facilitates the early detection of couple empathy, providing a scientific foundation for the development of early personalized intervention strategies. Overall, this scale possesses clinical relevance and practical importance in enhancing marital satisfaction. However, future research should encompass a larger and more diverse population.
