Effect of Linear Thermal Expansion on Quasi-Thermoelastic Wave in an Incompressible Transversely Isotropy Based on Different Materials
This paper investigated the propagation of quasi-thermoelastic waves at an incompressible transversely isotropic solid half-space and the effect of linear thermal expansion. In this material, we have observed the existence of two waves, quasi-primary wave (qP) and quasi-thermal wave (qT), propagating with different phase velocities. The reflection of elastic waves at the solid half-space is investigated using appropriate boundary conditions. The amplitude and energy ratios are calculated based on three different materials, magnesium, titanium, and thallium. It is found that the phase velocities of the propagated elastic waves are functions of linear thermal expansions, thermal relaxation time, thermal conductivity, and specific heat. The phase speed of the elastic waves is found to be high in magnesium as compared to titanium and thallium. We have observed the effect of coefficients of linear thermal expansion numerically on the quasi-thermoelastic wave propagation and the reflection coefficients.
