STccAMTS: secure traffic congestion control approach for marine transportation system

The rapid growth of the marine industry has significantly increased traffic at ports, making traditional traffic management approaches inefficient. To address this, advanced technologies have been integrated into maritime systems to control congestion. However, these technologies introduce security challenges. This paper proposes a secure berthing slot allocation strategy to effectively manage port traffic while ensuring stringent verification standards. Tools such as the ROR model, AVISPA tool, NS3, and BAN logic validate the proposed protocol's security, reliability, and robustness. The informal security analysis confirms that the protocol meets essential security requirements in congested maritime environments. A comprehensive comparison highlights its superior security features, reduced computational demands, and lower storage overhead compared to existing methods. These attributes make the protocol a viable option for practical implementation, enhancing both resilience and efficiency in maritime traffic management.
