Designing systems to build access to high-quality stroke treatments across Canada
Designing systems to build access to high-quality stroke treatments across CanadaThere is often a big difference in the quality of healthcare received by patients living in urban and rural areas, usually due to proximity to specialised hospitals. At Dalhousie University in Canada, Dr Noreen Kamal is aiming to change that, by putting her industrial engineering skills to use to improve a registry system that helps rural stroke patients get the same quality of care as urban dwellers, improving their chances of going on to live full lives.
