The impact of digital media on the quality of healthcare services
This study aims to analyze the impact of digital media use on the quality of healthcare services from the perspective of healthcare workers in hospitals located in Riyadh. It also seeks to identify the key advantages and challenges associated with digital media in the healthcare sector and to propose practical recommendations for enhancing its effectiveness. The study adopted a descriptive analytical approach, and data were collected from a purposive sample of 100 healthcare professionals in Riyadh, using a questionnaire that was validated for reliability and consistency through Cronbach's Alpha and the Spearman-Brown coefficient. The results indicated that participants' overall assessment of the impact of digital media on the quality of healthcare services was moderate. The most notable advantages were improved access to information and time efficiency, while the main challenges included concerns over privacy, usability issues for certain groups, and the fragmentation caused by multiple digital platforms. The study further revealed a general tendency to support the development and simplification of digital health applications, along with the need to strengthen digital literacy and training for both healthcare providers and recipients. The study recommends establishing a unified national digital health platform, enhancing privacy protections, and implementing mechanisms for regularly assessing user satisfaction to ensure the quality and sustainability of digital healthcare services.
