Literatura afrodescendente: uma leitura de Solitária à luz de Sueli Carneiro e de Grada Kilomba
The article proposes a reading of Solitária, a novel by the writer Eliana Alves Cruz. To this end, the narrative of the characters Mabel and Eunice is analyzed, in which the maid’s room and other architectural structures of segregation correspond to a metonymy to problematize the persistence of coloniality and slavery thinking in Brazil. The analysis is developed from the concepts of construction of non-being, by the Brazilian philosopher Sueli Carneiro, and of otherness, by the Portuguese psychologist and interdisciplinary artist Grada Kilomba. By shedding light on Afro-descendant literature in the face of issues related to the Brazilian history, we intend to instigate reflections about the social.
