Determination and justification of the optimal amount of ultrafine diamond graphite additive in Litol-24 oil in rolling bearings

One of the main problems in rolling bearings is the lubricant. Various types of lubricants are used to solve this problem. In this article, let’s conduct a study to study the effect of various amounts of an ultrafine diamond-graphite additive in the existing Litol-24 brand lubricating oil used in rolling bearings on the coefficient of friction of the bearing rest and determined the value of the most effective optimal amount of additive and justified by experimental and theoretical method. As our research has shown, in the range of 0.2–2.0 % of the additive of ultrafine graphite diamond, as the additive increases, the coefficient of friction first decreases, takes a minimum value within a certain limit, and then increases. Depending on the magnitude of the contribution, the coefficient of friction at rest varies according to the quadratic law. A mathematical model of the process was built and a mathematical expression was defined – a formula that can accurately describe the regularity of the effect of a new additive on oil friction ratio. The resulting mathematical expression is consistent with the minimum value determined experimentally, and this experiment is based on data obtained as a result of research. It was determined that the difference between the minimum coefficient of friction and the experimental data is 1.07 % with an additive content of 1 % in the oil. Based on the above, it can be concluded that although the optimal price for ultrafine diamond graphite, which is part of the existing Litol-24 oil and has a composition of 80 % graphite and 20 % diamond, is 0.07 %, it can be considered more practical for acceptance and use for production, this is no more than 1 %
