Economic well-being and citizens' perceptions of prosperity: a comparative analysis in the context of the integration of the Republic of Moldova into the EU
The study examines Moldovan residents' opinions of economic well-being and the influence of European Union (EU) integration on these perceptions. European integration is seen as a vital element in elevating quality of life and boosting population well-being via institutional modernisation, access to European markets, and conformity with the EU’s economic and social standards. The study integrates quantitative and qualitative methodologies, including a questionnaire distributed to a sample of 609 participants, and examines many aspects of well-being, such as personal safety, work-life balance, job satisfaction, and environmental quality. The findings indicate a moderate to high degree of well-being, shaped by emotional resilience with economic and social adversities. The study highlights the significance of European integration in enhancing the economic and social welfare of Moldova and suggests public policy suggestions for sustained well-being.Cuvinte-cheie: bunăstare economică, percepții asupra prosperității, integrare europeană, satisfacție profesională, siguranță personală, echilibrul muncă-viață, fericirea.
