Design and progress of the cryogenic system for CRAFT superconducting magnet test facility
Abstract Comprehensive Research Facility for Fusion Technology (CRAFT) project is a big scientific engineering in China. In order to test the cryogenic performance of full-size superconducting magnet, a large-scale helium cryogenic system was proposed and under construction. The helium cryogenic system was comprised of a helium refrigerator with the capacity of [email protected] + 20g/s@50K +15kW@80K for a supercritical helium distribution cold box and a 500W@2K superfluid helium cold box. In this paper, the equipment and interface of the helium cryogenic system was analysed. Thermodynamic cycle and the process flow of the helium refrigerator has been designed concerning the various operation modes. The 3D model and layout of the helium cryogenic system has been designed. The process and present status of the helium cryogenic system would also be introduced.
