The article examines the key areas of transformation of the energy complex of the European Union in the context of large-scale sanctions and changes in global energy markets. The effects of the introduction of restrictive measures on the structure of energy exports and imports, as well as the impact on the fuel balance and the functioning of the EU infrastructure, are analyzed.
