ANÁLISE ESPACIAL E TEMPORAL DA EPIDEMIA DE ESPOROTRICOSE EM GUARULHOS (2011 – 2023)
Sporotrichosis is a fungal disease that affects humans and animals, primarily felines. Since 2011, the municipality of Guarulhos has recorded cases of the disease in animals, with significant annual increases, intensifying each year the risk to humans due to close contact with infected animals. Considering this concern, an ecological study was conducted to describe the spatiotemporal distribution of the disease from 2011 to 2023. For this purpose, animal sporotrichosis cases provided by the Guarulhos Zoonosis Control Center were geocoded and associated with their corresponding census tracts (SC). The distribution of cases over time and space was analyzed using Kernel spatial density maps, classical time series decomposition, Global and Local Moran's indices, and comparisons between pre-established groups of census tracts based on annual case numbers. The analysis revealed that the distribution pattern of cases is not random (Global Moran with p<0.001) and shows an increasing trend (Friedman Test between periods with p=0.018), making it necessary to maintain sporotrichosis surveillance in the municipality and its neighboring areas to implement disease control policies for both humans and animals.
