Insights into Online Educator Professional Development: Revealing Resource Recommendations with Association Rule Mining
This study, presented as a research poster for the 2024 AECT conference, explores association rule mining (ARM) and web analytics data to inform the curation of online professional development (PD) for recommending resources within a large-scale online PD library for K-12 educators, called the EdHub Library, by revealing how resources are frequently accessed together for new and returning users. The findings have practical implications for expanding resources in the Beginning Teacher Assistance module to include resources from other topics areas in Student Assessment, Cognitive Development, Units of Instruction, and Building Instructional Skills in NEE 1.2 (cognitive engagement) and 4.1 (problem-solving).
