MECANOTERAPIA COMO ESTRATÉGIA FISIOTERAPÊUTICA EM CASOS DE OSTEOPOROSE0
This study aims to evaluate the efficacy of mechanotherapy in the treatment of osteoporosis, focusing on improving motor functions and preventing fractures. Mechanotherapy applies controlled mechanical stimuli to induce physiological responses that favor bone remodeling and muscle strengthening, reducing the impact of osteoporosis on the mobility of individuals affected by the disease. The objective was to investigate the impact of mechanotherapy on preserving bone density, improving motor functionality and reducing the risk of fractures in osteoporotic patients. This is a bibliographic review based on scientific studies published in the last five years, using the descriptors "osteoporosis", "mechanotherapy" and "physical rehabilitation" in databases such as PubMed, LILACS and Google Scholar. Articles available in Portuguese, English and Spanish that addressed mechanotherapy as a therapeutic tool for osteoporosis were included. Data analysis was performed qualitatively, comparing methodologies and results presented in the selected studies. The reviewed studies indicate that mechanotherapy has significant benefits in improving muscle strength and balance, and is an effective strategy in the functional rehabilitation of osteoporotic patients. Evidence suggests that the regular application of mechanical stimuli favors bone mineral density and contributes to reducing the incidence of fractures. In addition, the combination of mechanotherapy with other physiotherapeutic approaches, such as proprioceptive exercises and electrotherapy, enhances its effects. Mechanotherapy has proven to be an efficient approach for the treatment of osteoporosis, providing benefits in motor function and in the prevention of fractures. However, some limitations still need to be considered, such as the need for standardization of therapeutic protocols and the variability in patient response. For future research, it is recommended that clinical studies be developed to evaluate the long-term effects of mechanotherapy and its interaction with other rehabilitation techniques.
