Recovery factors and development of a grounded theory of recovery in type 1 disordered eating

Our findings propose a theory on the process of recovery and present common recovery factors. The presented model of recovery could be used as a formulation tool to help individuals living with T1DE and their healthcare teams, both in mental health and diabetes settings. Those working with this population may want to consider how their services can facilitate any of the listed recovery factors as well as limit the barriers mentioned.

Abstract

Our findings propose a theory on the process of recovery and present common recovery factors. The presented model of recovery could be used as a formulation tool to help individuals living with T1DE and their healthcare teams, both in mental health and diabetes settings. Those working with this population may want to consider how their services can facilitate any of the listed recovery factors as well as limit the barriers mentioned.
