Wireless Network Optimization using Routing Algorithms

Aim: This study enhances wireless network performance by minimizing energy consumption through Energy-Aware Ad hoc On-Demand Distance Vector (EA-AODV) and comparing it with Dynamic Source Routing (DSR). Materials and Methods: Two groups were examined: Group 1 included 20 wireless network simulations using DSR, a conventional on-demand routing protocol, while Group 2 included 20 simulations using EA-AODV, which improves routing decisions based on energy metrics. Performance metrics assessed were accuracy, precision, recall, energy efficiency (bits per joule), and packet loss rate. A statistical significance threshold of (p < 0. 05) was applied with a 95% confidence level to validate the findings. Results: EA-AODV demonstrated higher energy efficiency (89. 78 bits per joule) compared to DSR (75. 44 bits per joule) and achieved better accuracy (87. 5%-91. 3 %) than DSR (73. 1%-77.3%), along with enhanced precision and recall, resulting in more reliable data transmission. Conclusion: The study illustrates that EA- AODV offers a more energy-effective and stable volition to traditional routing protocols like DSR, presenting a feasible result for optimizing energy consumption in wireless networks.

Conclusion: The study illustrates that EA- AODV offers a more energy-effective and stable volition to traditional routing protocols like DSR, presenting a feasible result for optimizing energy consumption in wireless networks.
