Single Switch Multi Utility Integrated Converter for EV Charging Applications

This paper proposes a high-efficiency, single-switch, multi-utility integrated converter for electric vehicle (EV) charging applications. The primary objective is to reduce component count, enhance power density, and improve overall system efficiency while maintaining cost-effectiveness. The proposed topology integrates Boost and Cuk converters, enabling dual-output operation with a single switch that simultaneously controls the Boost power factor correction (PFC) circuit and the integrated converter. A dual-loop closed-loop control strategy is implemented to ensure stable and regulated output voltages. The feasibility of the proposed converter is validated through MATLAB/Simulink simulations. At a 100 W power level, the system achieves an efficiency of 95.7% with minimal ripple, demonstrating its potential for compact and efficient EV charging solutions.
