High-Frequency Cross-Coupled Planar Inductor Design for Interleaved WBG Y-Inverter Layout
This paper presents the design of a cross-coupled inductor for use within a novel Y-inverter architecture. The inductor is designed in planar technology using a state-of-the-art high-frequency soft-ferrite core material. The inductor design is such as to enable operation over a broad range of switching frequencies, nominally from 50 to 150 kHz, empowering fine optimization of the inverter performance. The gapped-core design allows for fine trimming of the desired equivalent inductance value in operation as a trade-off between electro-magnetic performance, components electro-thermal stress levels and overall efficiency.
