Efficient Sharing of Computing Environments According to Their Use-Urgency by Using Containers Over P2P Network
In this paper, we propose a method for efficiently sharing various computing environments among multiple users using containers. In this method, container images and caches, which are intermediate products of builds, are stored as digital content in a hybrid P2P network and shared among users. Each user can retrieve images and caches through index servers according to the demands of his or her computing environments, and use the desired computing environments. By adjusting the type of content to be retrieved according to the urgency of the environments required by each user, the content items can be efficiently stored and shared within the network. In addition, these content items are reallocated in the network according to the demands of all users periodically. The effectiveness of the proposed method is evaluated using computer simulations.
