Experiential Learning of SNS Etiquette through a Digital Cooperative Game

In today's highly digitized society, individuals engage with society broadly by collecting and disseminating information through digital devices. While this shift may be preferable to weakened social relations, many people use digital tools without fully understanding the differences between face-to-face and online environments. Specifically, they behave the same in both settings without considering how others might feel, leading to serious issues like slander. To address such problematic situations, we developed educational material called “SNS Ninja” aimed at enhancing SNS literacy. This is a cooperative card game revamped from the well-received analog version, “SNS Master.” This paper summarizes the initial evaluation results of the digital card game material SNS Ninja. Feedback from 27 subjects indicated that SNS Ninja was enjoyable, helpful for understanding the learning content, and influenced participants to act appropriately on SNS. These results suggest that using digital games for enhancing SNS literacy allows for enjoyable learning experiences.
