A Fault-Tolerant Consensus Mechanism for Scalable and Reliable Blockchain Systems
With the rise of blockchain services, the need for scalable and secure technologies to handle vast data from users and IoT devices has increased. Practical Byzantine Fault Tolerance (PBFT) addresses Byzantine faults but struggles with scalability as network sizes grow. To overcome this, we propose Reliable Practical Byzantine Fault Tolerance (rPBFT), which predicts node reliability and forms small committees to enhance consensus efficiency. This method improves scalability and availability while preserving decentralization. Our experiments show that while PBFT performs better in fault-free conditions, rPBFT excels in faulty environments by reducing latency.
