Energy Generation for Wheelchair Using Piezoelectric

This paper provides the development of a Smart Wheelchair designed for people with a physical disability: improving mobility, safety, and comfort and using a piezoelectric sensor for energy generation which reduces power consumption. These people with impairment have many hardships: they could not be relatively independent, navigated complexly in environments and suffer from prolonged sitting health, like poor circulation. This proposed system addresses all those issues with a motor driver facilitating effortless propulsion; piezoelectric sensor for energy generation; ultrasonic sensors for real-time obstacle detection and avoidance; GPS navigation, facilitating continuous location tracking to ensure that the user does not suffer at any moment due to an unhealthy condition from sitting for extended hours; and an added vibration motor to improve circulation of blood by reducing complications through extended periods of immobility. The wheelchair is available in dual control modes, joystick and voice-enabled control, for flexible and user-friendly operation according to the individual's needs and preferences. It is a cost-effective smart mobility solution to empower people with disabilities, enhance their quality of life, and encourage greater independence in daily activities.
