Power Quality Enhancement in a Power System Using Active Filter with Sliding Mode Controller
This paper demonstrates the attainment of power quality through the incorporation of a sliding mode controller (SMC). The performance of FOPID and SMC is compared. SMC delivers a more stable output and substantially decreases Total Harmonic Distortion. QBC- Shunt Active filter with SMC Enhances the dynamic properties. SMC provides substantial benefits compared to FOPID regarding robustness, nonlinear control, disturbance rejection, enhancement of dynamic performance, and stability. It is especially appropriate for systems characterized by significant uncertainties, disturbances, and nonlinearities, rendering it optimal for intricate systems such as power systems, robotics, and automotive applications.
