Structural and Electrochemical Properties Comparison of AgVO3 and Ag3PO4 for H2O2 Sensor
Hydrogen peroxide is one of mostly used chemical in industrial zones and needs to be detected before consuming water and food. In this study, the same cation contained two compounds of AgVO 3 and Ag 3 PO 4 were synthesized via a simple hydrothermal method, and characterization was carried out using transmission electron microscope (TEM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), electron dispersive spectroscopy (EDS), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), X-ray diffraction (XRD). Initially, compounds have been modified on a glassy carbon electrode (GCE) to use in cyclic voltammetry. Then, the electrode was developed on a rotating disk electrode for testing in amperometry to investigate electrochemical analysis. All electrochemical experiments exhibited successful reduction of the current response for the detection of H 2 O 2 for AgVO 3 /GCE and Ag 3 PO 4 /GCE. AgVO 3 /GCE modified electrode exhibits a lower limit of detection (LOD) of 0.03 μM compared to Ag 3 PO 4 /GCE, which resulted in 0.25 μM. These two proposed electrochemical sensors exhibited good repeatability and anti-interference ability for H 2 O 2. Finally, the river water sample was tested for real-time analysis, giving LOD results of 0.01 and 2.24 μM for AgVO 3 /GCE and Ag 3 PO 4 /GCE, respectively.
