Influence of temperature on the characterization and optical behavior of feldspar, Al₂O₃/feldspar and Al₂O₃ ceramics
The present study produced pieces of small thickness, uniform, and simple geometry through uniaxial pressing. Where the load was applied to compact the feldspar, Al2O3/feldspar and Al2O3 powders in only one direction. This technique was chosen due to its simple action in obtaining parts with reduced geometry and thickness. Only three steps are necessary to manufacture the part, which are: filling the mold cavity, compacting the mass and extracting the part. It is worth noting that for powder compaction, in addition to uniaxial pressing, there is isostatic pressing. The powders obtained were mixed as follows: ceramic particles + water + additives, weighed and sieved. They are then shaped using a manual press and sintered in a muffle furnace, between 1160-1600 ºC, with a heating rate of 2.5 ºC/min. The results obtained indicate that the presence of alumina influences the volumetric expansion of ceramic pieces.
