Humbled Tongues
CieraJevae is a Black feminist poet who writes from the mouth of memory, home, and resistance. In this piece, she honors the lessons learned before the classroom, where family, rage, and love shaped her more than any textbook. Her work speaks back to white academic spaces, reclaiming language as a means of survival and protest.
