O PAPEL DO EXERCÍCIO NA SAÚDE MENTAL DO IDOSO
This study analyzed the effects of physical exercise and physiotherapy on the mental health of the elderly, focusing on the prevention and treatment of mental disorders. The methodology used was a bibliographic review based on scientific articles from major databases. The results indicate that regular physical activity and physiotherapy help reduce symptoms of depression and anxiety, improve cognition, and increase the functional autonomy of older adults. Additionally, these practices assist in memory preservation, socialization, and emotional well-being enhancement. The conclusion highlights that despite the proven benefits, there is a need to standardize protocols and conduct long-term studies to better understand the impacts of these interventions.
