Sex-Based Differences in Epicardial Adipose Tissue Volume and Association With Histological Acute Cellular Rejection Among Post Cardiac Transplant Patients

Acute cellular rejection (ACR) is a common challenge after heart transplantation (HT). Epicardial adipose tissue (EAT) exerts paracrine and vasocrine effects on the adjacent coronary vasculature and myocardium. We sought to evaluate the association between donor’s EAT with ACR in HT patients.

Abstract

Acute cellular rejection (ACR) is a common challenge after heart transplantation (HT). Epicardial adipose tissue (EAT) exerts paracrine and vasocrine effects on the adjacent coronary vasculature and myocardium. We sought to evaluate the association between donor’s EAT with ACR in HT patients.
