Development of Provincial Patient and Primary Care Pathways for Those With Polycystic Ovary Syndrome to Manage Their Health and Risk Factors for Heart Health
Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is the most common metabolic-endocrine disorder impacting 15% of women and is associated with increased cardiovascular disease (CVD) including cardiac dysfunction and atherosclerosis. PCOS patients and health care workers have expressed the need for directions in care to adequately address their multifaceted symptoms and cardiovascular risk factors. Our project was to develop evidence-based patient and primary care clinical pathways to educate and guide patients on their health care journey and provide caregivers with guidance in diagnosis and management of PCOS.
