Long-Term Brain Health Among Women With Hypertension During Pregnancy
Hypertensive disorders of pregnancy (HDP) can increase the risk of small vessel disease (SVD) in women, affecting brain white matter and connectivity, leading to cognitive decline. However, the link between HDP (gestational hypertension, with or without proteinuria and/or edema), brain dysfunction, and cognitive decline in late life remains unclear. In this study we aimed to evaluate the association between HDP and long-term neurological damage using the UK Biobank.
