Progression of Atherosclerosis and Left Ventricular Dysfunction in High-Risk Young Women With and Without Polycystic Ovary Syndrome
Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is the most prevalent endocrine-metabolic disorder, affecting approximately 10%-15% of women across the lifespan. Women with PCOS are at increased risk of obesity, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease (CVD). There are limited data on the progression of atherosclerosis and cardiac dysfunction in young women with and without PCOS. The aim of this study was to examine progression of atherosclerosis and cardiac dysfunction in a cohort of young women with and without PCOS.
