Diffuse dermal angiomatosis of the breast masquerading as recurrent cellulitis, treated with Benelli’s mastopexy: a case report
Diffuse dermal angiomatosis of the breast (DDAB) is a rare, underdiagnosed reactive angioproliferative condition presenting as painful, poorly circumscribed red violaceous plaques, often with visible telangiectasia, ulceration and scarring in middle-aged women with macromastia. Reduction mammoplasty is the curative treatment. We present a novel procedural therapy with an excellent aesthetic outcome in a patient with DDAB who was reluctant to undergo reduction mammoplasty. We provide an algorithmic management approach to this rare condition. We also present a comparative compendium on reactive angioproliferations.
