Prenatal high-dose vitamin D supplementation and childhood atopic dermatitis until age 6 years: a secondary analysis of a randomized clinical trial
This RCT of 581 Danish mother–child pairs found no effect of prenatal supplementation with 2800 IU daily vs. 400 IU daily of vitamin D on offspring risk of atopic dermatitis until age 6 years. Our findings suggest no beneficial effect of prenatal vitamin D although previous studies have suggested such a relationship, warranting future larger RCTs.
