Abstract

This study investigates the influence of consultants' personality types on their job-crafting intention and whether their sense of purpose has a moderating effect. An online and offline survey was conducted on consultants engaged in consulting work nationwide for the empirical study. Two hundred fifty questionnaires were distributed for one month from December 1, 2024, and a final 180 valid samples were used for analysis. The collected questionnaire data were subjected to frequency analysis, reliability analysis, exploratory factor analysis, correlation analysis, multiple regression analysis, and moderated regression analysis using SPSS 27.0, a statistical analysis package. The results of the empirical analysis are summarized as follows.First, the results of the hypothesis verification showed that the consultant's open personality had a significant positive (+) effect on their job crafting intention.Second, the consultant's conscientious personality had a significant positive (+) effect on their willingness to their job crafting intention.Third, the consultant's extroverted personality had a significant positive (+) effect on their job crafting intention.Fourth, the consultant's agreeableness was found to have a significant positive effect on the job crafting intention.Fifth, the consultant's neurotic personality was found to have a significant negative(-) effect on the will to job crafting intention. In addition, it was found that goal consciousness had a significant moderating effect only on the extroverted personality type on the consultant's personality and the will to job crafting intention. These research results confirmed that among the five personality types of consultants, namely openness, conscientiousness, extroversion and agreeableness had a posivive effect on job crafting intention, and neuroticism had a negative effect and in the verification results on the moderating effect of goal consciousness on the relationship between the consultant's personality type and to job crafting intention, it was confirmed that only extroversion had an effect.Accordingly, this study presents a practical implementation plan that can promote collaboration among consultants by identifying the individual personality types of consultants, instilling a sense of purpose in each consultant, and encouraging job crafting to increase competitiveness and intention to maintain jobs.
