Intelligent Decision Support System (IDSS) for the Choice of a Storage Control Technology

Objectives: Develop IDSS to select food storage control technology. Methods: Robotic automation, temperature monitoring, and traceability systems control food storage. Which is the most suitable? It has proved that the COPRAS multicriteria assessment method is the most ideal for the selection. Results: The food department of Birstonas Sanatorium requested advice on optimal food storage control technology. The eleven most suitable criteria were selected and reasoned (ability to maintain the proper temperature K1, moisture in storage K2, ability to operate technology without interruption K3, the possibility of the connection to a global network K4, the convenience of placing goods K5, ability to maintain proper cleanliness K6, sustainability K7, expenditure of management K8, suitability of conditions for storing K9, possible time of storage K10, cost of technology-price suitability K11). The decision was made using the COPRAS method. After expert evaluation, the best storage control technology was selected–"Chemical composition change management technology partially automated” (received 0.0798 points), which best meets the requirements of food storage control according to the developed tool. The COPRAS method was the basis for the creation of an intelligent decision support system. Conclusions: The presented intelligent decision-making support system allows the dietary food institutions to select the most suitable technology for raw materials storage control. The developed tool has been tested in practice and turned out to be appropriate.
