The Impact of Leisure Greenway Attributes on Visitor Satisfaction: Focused on Chiaksan National Park Dullegil
This study investigates how various attributes of leisure greenways affect visitor satisfaction, focusing on Chiaksan Dullegil, a representative walking trail in Wonju, South Korea. As walking-based leisure activities gain popularity, understanding which environmental and experiential factors enhance user satisfaction is crucial for sustainable trail management.Based on previous literature, five key greenway attributes-safety, convenience, accessibility, comfort, and sense of place-were identified and measured using a structured questionnaire.Data were collected from 208 trail users, and the results were analyzed using multiple regression and cluster analysis. The regression analysis revealed that safety, comfort, and accessibility have a statistically significant positive effect on visitor satisfaction, while convenience and sense of place do not show significant impacts Cluster analysis further identified three distinct user groups-frequent, occasional, and infrequent-each demonstrating different behavioral patterns and satisfaction levels. The findings suggest that tailored strategies should be developed to meet the needs of different user groups, particularly by improving physical safety, transportation accessibility, and environmental quality for less frequent users. This research offers practical implications for policymakers and trail managers aiming to enhance the recreational value of greenways. It also contributes to the theoretical understanding of leisure spaces by examining how specific attributes shape user experiences.
