A 12-Month Longitudinal Study of Fatty Acids and Executive Function Among Adolescents With and Without Perinatally Acquired HIV in Kampala, Uganda

Results: Inflammatory stress was more frequent in atherogenic dyslipidemia and liver fibrosis than in cases of fat dystrophies and sarcopenia.Frequency of inflammatory stress increased significantly in states of inadequate HEI, CHO/Fiber and Na/K.The conducted 10-wk LiSM decreased inadequate rates of HEI (24%), CHO/Fiber (17.2%),Na/K (14.3%) and Ca/ Protein. The decreasing of fatness reduced abdominal (20.1%) and whole body (11.9) obesity, as well as the hs-CRP levels (37%) leading to 14.9% reduction of inflammatory -stress rate. These changes were paralleled by NCD reductions, ranked by highest risk of dislipemic, PAI (51.7%) and CHD (45.4%),T2D (31.4%) and dystrophic-dislipemic, NAFLD (26.8%) and MetS (19.4%).Conclusions: The 10-wk LiSM with counseled-dietary adequacy was effective in reducing systemic inflammation and mostly relied NCDs.
