ANTİK YUNAN FELSEFESİ İLE ANTİK YUNAN-ROMA TİYATRO MEKANLARININ AKUSTİK İLİŞKİSİ
The Ancient Greek period is of great importance as it forms the foundations of scientific thought and the search for understanding the mathematical order of the universe. The infrastructure of the education system in this period is formed by the Seven Liberal Arts (Septem Artes Liberales), known as Trivium and Quadrivium.Trivium includes logic, rhetoric, and grammar; Quadrivium includes the sciences of arithmetic, geometry, astronomy, and music. The philosophy of the Quadrivium system, which shaped the thought structure of the period, was reflected in the design of theater spaces, one of the architectural structures of the period.Ancient Greek-Roman theaters are architectural structures based on mathematical principles. At the same time, these structures are concrete reflections of the philosophical accumulations of the Ancient Greek period. This study aims to examine the effects of the mathematically based Quadrivium science branches of Ancient Greek philosophy on the acoustic properties of Ancient Greek-Roman theater structures. For this purpose, a literature review was conducted using document analysis and the obtained data was evaluated.
