Advances in Methods of Localization of Pulmonary Nodules

In recent years, with the widespread application of computed tomography (CT) in the screening of lung diseases, coupled with an increased awareness of the importance of regular check-ups, a significant number of pulmonary nodules have been detected. Among these, ground-glass nodules (GGNs) are the most representative. Compared to solid nodules, these non-solid nodules have a higher likelihood of being malignant. It is particularly challenging to locate sub-solid or ground-glass opacity nodules during surgery using palpation methods, making accurate localization crucial for the complete resection of such nodules. This article summarizes the current research progress in the localization of pulmonary nodules both domestically and internationally, and analyzes their application scenarios, advantages, and disadvantages.
