Comparative Long-Term Performance of Biologic, Synthetic, and Long-Acting Resorbable Meshes in Ventral Hernia Repair: Population Survival Kinetics Approach
We demonstrate the first application of population survival kinetics in the surgery literature. Long-acting resorbable meshes have the longest time to recurrence and the lowest recurrence rates for 5 and 10 years, suggesting superior long-term performance compared with synthetic and biologic meshes.
