Clinical-epidemiological profile, risk factors and quality of life of patients with meibomian gland dysfunction

Objective: To investigate clinical-epidemiological profile, risk factors, and quality of life of patients with meibomian gland dysfunction. Methods: A total of 108 patients were prospectively studied. Symptoms of dry eye, eyelid disorders and secretory function were analyzed. Laboratorial exams included fasting glucose, glycated hemoglobin, cholesterol, and triglycerides. Quality of life was analyzed using the Ocular Surface Disease Index©.
