Coal industry workers peripheral atherosclerosis traditional risk factors
Among coal mining workers, the common traditional risk factors for atherosclerosis were hypertension, tobacco smoking, age over 47 years, atherogenic phenotypes of dyslipidemia and waist/hip index were significant for miners, obesity only for coal mine workers. The focus on the prevention of cardio vascular diseases should be directed towards achieving the target blood pressure figures and constant monitoring of compliance, since only 24.6% of people with hypertension reached the targets.
