Shaped pulse-based high dynamic range optical time domain reflectometry for hollow-core fiber characterization

High-power pulses for Optical Time Domain Reflectometer (OTDR) are generated using pre-shaped optical source. The achieved dynamic range of 27 dB when measuring low loss hollow-core fibers (HCFs) is 10 dB higher than previously reported.
