Research on Measures to Improve the Multiple Renewable Energy Stations Short Circuit Ratio Based on an Actual Photovoltaic Integration System
This paper analyzes the effectiveness of synchronous condensers and grid-forming devices in improving the multiple renewable energy stations short circuit ratio (MRSCR), based on a practical project involving a 90MW photovoltaic (PV) station connected to the 330kV HR substation in Ningxia power grid. The study shows that configuring a 50Mvar synchronous condenser, 50MW grid-forming energy storage, or 40Mvar static synchronous compensator can increase the SCR to above 1.5, meeting Chinese National Standard. Additionally, a hybrid configuration of 20Mvar static synchronous compensator and 25MW grid-forming energy storage is also effective. The research provides practical engineering references for improving the MRSCR.
