Adaptive Processing Algorithm for Distorted Towed Array Sonar Signals
Large aperture towed array sonar has the characteristics of high resolution and long-distance detection. However, during the maneuvering and turning process of the towed platform, the large aperture towed array sonar will undergo bent array distortion, resulting in a mismatch of array guidance vectors, which reduces the signal processing gain of the array and causes deviation in target azimuth estimation. This article proposes an Improved Robust Capon Beamformer(IRCB) algorithm based on subarray adaptive beamforming to estimate array flow patterns during maneuvering and reduce the degree of guidance vector mismatch, thereby solving the problem of ineffective target detection by towed array sonar in platform maneuvering situations.
